The Blog Carnival Has Arrived

According to Wikipedia, a Blog Carnival is a type of blog event. It is similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic and is published on a regular schedule, often weekly or monthly. Each edition of a blog carnival is in the form of a blog article that contains links to other blog articles on the particular topic. There are many variations, but typically, someone who wants to organize a carnival posts details of the theme or topic to their blog, and asks readers to submit relevant articles for inclusion in an upcoming edition. The host then collects links to these submissions, edits and annotates them (often in very creative ways), and publishes the resulting round-up to his or her blog.
Many smart and talented horse bloggers contributed articles to the “Five Things” carnival at Bridlepath. We submitted two articles: Five Things: Benefits from Horse Riding by Madelaina and Defy Gravity by LeadMare. So…
What do *YOU* think — should Girls Horse Club volunteer to host a blog carnival at our virtual barn? Any ideas for a theme?

YES, you should definitely offer to host. :) It helps expand your network quite a bit, and it’s very easy to do. Themes we’ve done so far: Barbaro, lameness, all things equine (i.e. not just horses)…the possibilities are endless. I liked the five things idea because people love to read lists for some reason. ;)
I think GHC should host a blog carnival about the “Do’s and Don’ts of Horses” It could have some mistakes, big or small, that people have made just not when riding but horse care in general. Just an idea. :)
Good idea Julia. The web is such a great resource for learning about the do’s and don’ts of horses from a lot of different perspectives. I learn something new everyday. :)
Another thought is something like “First Impressions” which could be your first memory of a horse, or your first meeting with a horse who has touched your life.
First Impressions is a fantastic Idea! I could write pages about that if I wanted. :) Thanks.
Hmm Julia I can tell your mind is very flexible and smart. :) Another topic can be “Great Examples of Horsemanship” where we can list all the great riders who had achieved high goals.
Madelaina: Thanks. My mind changes every three seconds :). That’s also a great idea. That could even be highly achieved goals from anybody. Even if it’s getting over a fear of horses to mount and then ride off into the sunset( or more accuarately get on a lungeline and ride in circles). Even riders who have inspired you to go out there and be with horses. :D
I think they’ll horses should host the Carnival! it’ll be great!
